Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears are back bangin' out the same soulful sound that made their debut, Tell 'Em What Your Name Is!, a hit. If you're a fan of Black Joe Lewis this sophomore effort, Scandalous, will not disappoint; if you're new to the group, hang on and prepare for a wild, funky ride.
Frontman Joe Lewis - whose voice is one part honey drip, and two parts James Brown - tears through the album, putting his heart and soul into the vocals on every track. He's backed by The Honeybears - a six-man outfit that provide instrumentals, including a horn section that sometimes explodes in a song.
The first two songs below are off of Scandalous, and the last one is from Tell 'Em What Your Name Is!. If those don't satisfy your eardrums, maybe you don't feel the blues.
